The Bible says that
God, while promising His people many things, never promises life without
challenges and difficulties (2 Timothy 3:12; John 16:33). Even in
temptation God promises not the absence of temptation but a way of
escape WITH the temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13). The way of escape is
always there. It always will be.
The Bible says that: as
God keeps His promises so should His people (Numbers 30:1-13;
Deuteronomy 23:21-23; Ecclesiastes 5:4-6). Because we should strive to
keep all the promises we make we should be careful not to make promises
hastily. The Bible says that Herod promised Herodias anything she wanted
after she performed a very seductive dance for him. When she asked for
the head of John the Baptist Herod was sorry he made the promise but
felt bound to keep it and did (Matthew 14:1-12).
