"WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT DILIGENCE"

In Hebrews 11:6 the Bible says, "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Mint." God expects us to be diligent in our quest to become as close as possible to Him. The Bible says that God expects diligence in our study of His Word (2 Timothy 2:15). The Bible says that God expects diligence in our spiritual growth (2 Peter 1:5-11). The Bible says that God expects diligence in guarding of self from evil (Deuteronomy 4:9; Proverbs 4:23). The Bible says that God expects diligence in our striving for maturity and perfection in Christ (Philippians 3:13-14).

In Hebrews 6:11-12 the Bible says.. "And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, " 112} "that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. " Diligence is necessary in our maintaining a proper relationship with the Lord (2 Peter 1:10-1 l; 3:14). The christian "abounds" with diligence (2 Corinthians 8:7). The Bible says that christian should know that without practicing diligence it is possible to 'fall short of the grace of God " (Hebrews 12:12-17).

The Bible says that God's people must also be diligent in their every day work (Proverbs 6:6-11; 27:23). In Romans 12:11 the Bible says, ...not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit. serving the Lord.. " When we are diligent in our jobs and in the discharge of the daily duties of life we are serving the Lord in this (Colossians 3:23). In doing this we will find favor and prosperity in life (Proverbs 10:4; 11:27; 12:24; 13:4; 22:29). Without it we become lazy, unproductive, and displeasing to God (Matthew 25:26-301).

The Bible gives the apostles and early christians as examples of diligence in teaching the Word of God (Acts 5:42; 2 Timothy 4:1-5; Acts 18:25; 20:17-38). This sort of diligence pays great rewards in reaping the souls of those who hear and obey the gospel (Galatians 6:9; 1 Corinthians 15:58).
